What Is Psychosis?

Psychosis is a mental health condition in which a person loses touch with reality.

What Is Psychosis?
Psychosis is a mental health condition in which a person loses touch with reality. The extent to which the individual is affected by it varies greatly: some people appear to be normal, but experience difficulties with their inward thoughts or perceptions. Others are barely aware of their surroundings. But anyone who experiences any level of psychosis is said to be "psychotic"—a word that is frequently misused as it's often used to refer to people who are violent.
